About the Event
Event:
May 29th | Basket Weaving with Janie Oldham
Ages 12 & up
Open to the public.
Basket weaving is a living tradition that blends utility, artistry, and cultural connection. In addition to forging connection to culture, basketweaving promotes additional benefits. Weaving involves focus and concentration. As each strand is woven together, the weaver becomes immersed in the task at hand allowing them to let go of distractions and to be present in the moment, promoting mindfulness. This state of being aware of one’s thoughts, feelings, and surroundings without judgement is an essential aspect of mental well-being.
Limited space available. RSVP today through the form linked below or in person at Indian Health Care Resource Center of Tulsa.
*Caregivers must attend the event in its entirety if the youth is under the age of 16.
