About the Event

Event:

June 5th | Ribbon Skirts with Tinisha Mitchell

Ages 16-20 years

Open to the public.

Ribbon Skirts are more than just fashion. These skirts become wearable narratives. Each ribbon skirt is unique, with colors, ribbons, and appliqué reflecting personal, familial, or regional significance. Skirts can convey leadership, spiritual roles, or personal stories, blending tradition with individual expression. They are also a form of cultural protection through reclaiming identity. In addition, making ribbon skirts teaches the use of a sewing machine, attention to detail, and mindfulness making this experience beneficial on many levels.

Limited space available. RSVP today through the form linked below or in person at Indian Health Care Resource Center of Tulsa.
