This year’s theme is How Do You Define Tradition?

Show us how traditions are carried out as an individual, household, community or nation. Use the 8x10 canvas provided using any medium to display your vision of this year’s theme. Only one contestant has the opportunity to have their design printed on the T-shirt worn by staff and volunteers at our upcoming event.

  • 12-17

  • 18-24

Important Information

Canvas Drop Off

May 29, 2025, from 8:30 am to 11:30 am and May 30, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

Details and Requirements

Contest
All submissions will be judged anonymously by IHCRC staff. The judges’ decision is final and neither the judges nor IHCRC will answer any correspondence.

 

Please do not write any contestant information on the canvas and provide a title of artwork for submission instead. All other details about the contestant should only be provided on the entry form. One entry to each category per individual.

The competition deadline is 30th of May 2025 and winners will be notified on, or before, 27th of June 2025.

 

Compensation
As a recognition for participation, winners will receive a ribbon and gift card. Licensor agrees that the prize is fair consideration for granting this license and understands that no additional compensation will be provided.

 

Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be given in each age category in the following amount:

First Place – Ribbon and $100 gift card

Second Place – Ribbon and $50 gift card

Third Place – Ribbon and $25 gift card

 

One finalist’s artwork will be picked to be printed on t-shirts for IHCRC’s Cultural Day

 

Artwork 

  • All artwork must be completed on canvas provided by IHCRC.

  • We accept artwork in the form of paintings, sketches, and mixed media.

  • Artwork should consist of the contestant's own work and should not infringe any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties.

  • Artwork created using AI will not be accepted.

  • Artwork may be produced in any mediums such as watercolors, pastels, charcoals, pencils, acrylic, crayons, paper cuttings, or oil paints.

 

Canvas Pick-Up/Contact Form

Only 200 canvases will be available for pickup on Thursdays in May from 8:30 am to 11:00 am while supplies last. The Youth Support Services Staff will be in the front reception area for participants to pick up canvases.

 

Canvas Drop Off/ Registration

Canvases must be turned in and registered by Youth Support Services Staff. The Youth Support Services Staff will be available for drop off on May 29th, 2025, from 8:30 am to 11:30 am and May 30th, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. You must turn the artwork in with a Youth Support Service Staff for registration to be completed.
