JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Public Health Nurse / VFC Coordinator to join our growing medical team. This role combines direct patient care with coordination of the VFC program, ensuring compliance, vaccine inventory management, and health education outreach. The ideal candidate has a strong background in public health nursing, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to excellent patient care. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide Public Health services to individuals, families, and community.

  • Provide education to individuals, families, and community groups.

  • Tracks and treats communicable diseases and reports to Public Health Investigation Disease Detection of Oklahoma.

  • Timely and accurately completes required monthly and quarterly reports.

  • Makes home visits, as needed, according to established guidelines.

  • Maintains daily inventory count of VFC vaccines.

  • Completes routine orders of VFC vaccines.

  • Checks in vaccines, completes paperwork, and inventory system update with the up-to-date logs.

  • Monitors refrigerator and freezer logs where vaccines are stored.

  • Administers vaccinations to children and adults.

  • Administer Tuberculin PPD tests.

  • Communicates with State and local agencies to ensure comprehensive public health services.

  • Attend Monthly Tulsa Immunization Coalition meetings.

  • Perform PFT, EKG, and ABI.

  • Responsible for Employee Health.

  • Completes annual VFC audit reports.

REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED SKILLS

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Associates degree in Nursing required. BSN preferred.

  • Completion of an accredited RN program.  Current and valid Oklahoma RN license.

  • 2+ years of clinical experience preferred.

  • BLS CPR Certification.

  • Current and valid driver’s license, good driving record, proof of insurance.
