JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Lab Assistant/ Phlebotomist to join our growing organization! The Lab Assistant / Phlebotomist supports patient care by performing blood draws and assisting with routine laboratory procedures in a fast-paced outpatient, nonprofit clinic. This role is responsible for specimen collection, processing, and accuracy while providing compassionate, patient-centered service aligned with the clinic’s mission.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Correctly identifies patients and properly collects appropriate amounts of blood necessary for specified testing.
Efficiently operates CLIA waived machines and centrifuges. Runs QC as needed.
Collects and receives blood, tissue, urine and other bodily fluids from patients safely and accurately.
Capable of performing venipuncture on all patients from geriatric to pediatric, regardless of difficulty.
Performs clerical duties required to process orders and obtain results.
Stays up to date with knowledge on new lab processes and collection changes.
REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED SKILLS
High School diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy program.
2+ years experience with blood draws on all age ranges.
Intermediate computer skills. Familiarity with electronic health record programs.
Organized and detail oriented.
BLS CPR certification.
