JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Clerk to join our growing medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining patient medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with healthcare regulations. This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of our medical office and facilitating effective patient care.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Accurate and timely scanning of documents into VISTA.

  • Process requests for records and invoicing.

  • Assist customers in person, on the telephone, fax, and mail.

  • Crosstrain on all medical records responsibilities.

  • Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external customers.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication regarding patient records and data management.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED SKILLS

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • 1+ years’ experience working in a multi-provider, electronic medical records environment preferred.

  • Must be organized, accurate, and customer focused.

  • Familiarity and understanding of HIPAA regulations and application thereof preferred.

  • Intermediate computer skills.
