JOB SUMMARY

The Fitness Services Representative is the first point of contact for members, guests, and visitors of the fitness center. This position is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, ensuring a welcoming environment, and supporting daily operations of the facility. The Fitness Services Representative plays a key role in promoting programs, maintaining safety standards, and assisting members in achieving their health and wellness goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Customer Service & Member Support

  • Greet and assist members, guests, and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.

    • Respond to inquiries regarding memberships, programs, classes, and facility policies.

    • Handle member check-ins and new member registrations.

  • Facility Operations

  • Monitor the fitness floor to ensure safety, cleanliness, and equipment functionality.

    • Report maintenance issues and assist with equipment set-up or troubleshooting.

    • Maintain an organized and professional front desk and lobby area.

  • Program & Membership Support

  • Promote and provide information about group classes, personal training, and wellness services.

    • Assist in scheduling fitness assessments and orientations for new members.

    • Track member usage and provide feedback to management on participation trends.

    • Assist members with operating entry level fitness equipment

  • Administrative Duties

  • Manage member accounts and database records accurately.

    • Answer phone calls, emails, and other communication in a timely manner.

    • Support staff scheduling, class rosters, and event registrations as needed.

  • Safety & Compliance

Enforce facility rules and policies to ensure a safe, positive environment.

 

REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED SKILLS

  • High school diploma

  • BLS CPR certification. 

  • Multiphone lines

  • Customer service

  • Organization and detail-oriented

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

OFFICE:   Mostly sedentary.  Must be able to sit in a chair most of the day to do the work.  Must be able to maneuver the body while sitting and using a computer keyboard. Minimal standing, walking, bending, carrying of light items (up to 25lbs pounds) such as papers, books, files, and lifting of mail baskets, gym equipment, and office items. Engages in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention.

PHYSICAL ability to lift 25lbs without assistance; walking, being on feet for extended periods of time in the fitness center.
