JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking to add a Contracting Specialist to our growing organization. The Contracting Specialist is responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts and agreements on behalf of IHCRC. This role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, supports operational efficiency, and protects the organization’s interests in business relationships with vendors, providers, payers, consultants, and other entities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various healthcare-related contracts, including vendor agreements, service contracts, professional services agreements, lease agreements, business associate agreements (BAAs), and managed care contracts.

  • Facilitates provider CMS Medicare/Medicaid contracting through the OHCA and provider 3rd party billing contracts.

  • Ensures all Business Associate Agreements are consistent and up to date.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Purchasing, IT, HR, Clinical Departments) to ensure contract terms meet operational and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all contracts in the contract management system. Ensures provider NPI numbers are assigned and up to date.

  • Monitor contract renewal dates and facilitate timely renegotiation or termination as needed.

  • Assist in developing and improving contract templates and standard language to streamline the contracting process.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, CMS guidelines, and other healthcare regulations.

  • Participate in contract-related audits and provide documentation or reports 7as required.

  • Provide training or support to staff on contract policy and procedures.

REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED SKILLS

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Legal Studies, or related field (required).

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in contract administration, preferably within a healthcare setting.

  • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and Medicare/Medicaid contracting.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certification preferred.

  • Experience with contract lifecycle management systems.

  • Knowledge of Indian Health Service (IHS), tribal health systems, or nonprofit healthcare settings.
