JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Licensed, Child Therapist to join our growing Behavioral Health Department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a deep commitment to making a positive impact in our patients lives. The Child Therapist provides behavioral health outpatient therapy to children and adolescents and collaborates with other staff serving pediatric patients to provide comprehensive treatment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Completes treatment plans that include measurable and time-limited goals.
Completes progress notes by the end of each day.
Provides therapy services to children and adolescents with a focus on family therapy when appropriate.
Ensures consent for treatment is given by parent/legal guardian for patient.
Develops diagnosis for children and adolescents based on DSM criteria and developmental factors.
Attends monthly care consultation meetings and is prepared to discuss cases.
Provides therapy services to children and adolescents.
Provides comprehensive services within scope of licensure, specialized trainings, and IHCRC privileges.
Completes thorough intakes on patients, including obtaining mental health and substance abuse history.
Provides crisis intervention services.
Establishes rapport with patients and provides continuing care to patients.
Collaborate with other providers/agencies with referrals and/or integrated care.
Completes other tasks as assigned.
REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED SKILLS
Master’s degree, LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.
Additional specialized training for working with children and adolescents is strongly preferred.
Demonstrates clinical competency required for community behavioral health.
Must have experience providing therapy to children and adolescents.
Strong communication skills.
Intermediate computer skills and proficiency with electronic health records software.
Must be a self-starter, multi-tasker, with ability to effectively give direction and input to care team.
Demonstrates and understanding of and/or a willingness to learn about cultural considerations for working with Native American patients.
