JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and driven Physical Therapy Assistant to join our growing Health & Wellness Department. The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients recover from injury, illness, or surgery. The PTA supports treatment plans aimed at improving mobility, relieving pain, and restoring function while promoting a welcoming, safe and supportive environment for all patients.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for patient care under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.
Implement treatment programs developed by the Physical Therapist, ensuring patient safety and effectiveness of therapy
Instruct patients in proper exercise techniques, body mechanics, and use of assistive devices
Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes or concerns to the Physical Therapist
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory standards
Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and rehabilitation goals
Assist with setting up and maintaining therapy equipment and a clean treatment environment
Participate in community health initiatives or outreach programs as needed
Contribute to a culture of compassion, equity, and continuous improvement
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED SKILLS
Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant
CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
1 + year of prior experience in an outpatient or community health setting preferred
Strong organizational skills
