JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and driven Physical Therapy Assistant to join our growing Health & Wellness Department. The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients recover from injury, illness, or surgery. The PTA supports treatment plans aimed at improving mobility, relieving pain, and restoring function while promoting a welcoming, safe and supportive environment for all patients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for patient care under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist. 

  • Implement treatment programs developed by the Physical Therapist, ensuring patient safety and effectiveness of therapy

  • Instruct patients in proper exercise techniques, body mechanics, and use of assistive devices

  • Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes or concerns to the Physical Therapist

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory standards

  • Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and rehabilitation goals

  • Assist with setting up and maintaining therapy equipment and a clean treatment environment

  • Participate in community health initiatives or outreach programs as needed

  • Contribute to a culture of compassion, equity, and continuous improvement

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED SKILLS

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

  • Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant

  • CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

  • 1 + year of prior experience in an outpatient or community health setting preferred

  • Strong organizational skills
