JOB SUMMARY

Indian Health Care Resource Center of Tulsa (IHCRC) is a nonprofit organization empowering the American Indian community through exceptional, culturally responsive healthcare. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our growing organization. The Occupational Therapist (OT) plays a vital role in helping patients of all ages develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills affected by physical, mental, or developmental conditions. OT's evaluate patient needs, create personalized treatment plans, teach rehabilitative exercises, and recommend adaptive equipment to maximize independence, functioning,, and quality of life. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assessment: Evaluate patient conditions through medical history review, interviews, and observation to determine treatment goals. 

Treatment Planning: Develop and implement customized intervention programs to improve daily task, such as dressing, eating, or working. 

Rehabilitation: Teach exercises to relieve pain and improve funcional abilities, such as fine motor skills and cognitive function. 

Adaptive Equipment: Recommend and instruct patients and families on the use of specialised equipment (e.g. wheelchairs, orthotics, adaptive utensils). 

Environmental Assessment: Evaluate home, school, or work environments to suggest necessary modifications for better accessibility. 

Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records, track progress, and update treatment plans. 

REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED SKILLS

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

  • Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist

  • NBCOT certification

  • Experience in outpatient, community health, all ages

  • Strong communication, organization, and patient-centered care skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a mission-driven, team-based environment
