JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Clinical dental assistant to join our growing team!

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Is engaged and demonstrates appropriate skill when assisting the dentists during examinations and treatment of patients.

  • Ensures dental operatories are well maintained and are appropriately set up for the planned procedure.

  • Competently takes radiographs, performs coronal polishing, and provides oral hygiene instruction and fluoride treatments as direct by the dentist.

  • Demonstrates proficiency with Dentrix and the EHR.  Enters relevant ADA codes into Dentrix for review and completion by the dentists.

  • Checks and records patient’s vitals per dental department guidelines.

  • Ensures that treatment plans, forms, and consents reviewed with the patient are appropriately signed and dated.

  • Follows proper safety procedures, utilizes proper protective equipment and maintains proper infection control protocols at all times.

  • Works efficiently to ensure all patients are seated in a timely manner. 

REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED SKILLS

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Graduate of a formal dental assisting program required.

  • Dental Assistant license required. Coronal polishing, radiation safety, and nitrous oxide permits preferred.

  • 2+ years of clinical experience preferred.

  • BLS CPR certification.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in obtaining patient vital signs.

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with dental practice management software.
