About the Event

Our Family Cooking Class is on a mission to teach the skills to make eating at home healthier, faster, and more affordable for the families of IHCRC. Whether you’ve never cracked an egg, or you’re just wanting to brush up on techniques, there’s something new for everyone to learn! This is an 8-session course for K-12 kids and their families. We will be teaching basic culinary skills and healthy eating habits, along with some indigenous food history. Dinner will be provided.

Topics include:

Knife skills and safety

Cooking Eggs All the Ways 

Yeast and Quick Breads

Various Veggie Methods

Pasta and Rice

Sauces and Dressings

Meat- Braised, Bake, and Broil (this class)

Sheet Pan Meals

Bring Your Own Recipe/ Competition Night
