JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our growing HR Team. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely upkeep and processing of all time and attendance timesheets, payroll data, and biweekly payroll checks/vouchers. Runs pre and post payroll-cycle reports. Responsible for entering all payroll system changes and data corrections, PAF processing, adjustments, deductions, and retro calculations. IHCRC uses the UKG Ready payroll system, applicants familiar with this system or UltiPro are preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Accurately input time and attendance in electronic payroll system. Reviews all time entries to ensure accuracy.

  • Enters time exceptions and ensures all punches and timecards are complete, submitted, and approved.

  • Communicates with managers and assists in correcting timesheet errors and omissions.

  • Ensures appropriate back-up documentation is turned in for payroll exceptions, pto, ceu, bereavement, etc.

  • Runs all pre-processing payroll reports and verifies accuracy.

  • Processes all PAF forms on a timely basis. Makes changes within an ‘effective date’ schedule.

  • Processes all new hire paperwork, tax forms, direct deposit forms. Processes deductions as required.

  • Ensures Paid Time Off (PTO) accruals are accurate. Makes adjustments as needed. Tracks cashout usage.

  • Utilizes UKG Ready payroll system functionality and assists HR department with utilization.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED SKILLS

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Some college courses in Human Resources or equivalent preferred.

  • 3+ years experience processing payroll in a healthcare environment preferred. Strong understanding of payroll regulations, department of labor guidelines, FLSA, and best practices required.

  • UKG Ready payroll application or UltiPro experience preferred. Electronic payroll system experience required.

  • Organized and detail oriented. Self-starter. Ability to multi-task.

  • Intermediate computer skills. Familiarity with MS Word and Excel.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels.
