JOB SUMMARY

As a Cyber Security Administrator, you will be responsible for safeguarding our organizational infrastructure from cybersecurity threats while handling network administration duties. You will use advanced network monitoring tools to detect and prevent unauthorized access and misuse, develop and implement incident response protocols, and manage network security systems. You will work with Network Engineer consultants and maintain access controls to ensure robust and secure IT operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Cybersecurity Management:

Protect organizational infrastructure from cybersecurity threats by employing network monitoring tools to detect, prevent, and address unauthorized access, misuse, and modification.

Develop, implement, and maintain incident response protocols to efficiently address and mitigate cyber-attacks.

Monitor network boundaries and firewalls for intrusion risks, updating firewall rules as needed to enhance security.

Analyze security incidents and generate detailed reports to track trends and provide recommendations for enhancing security measures. Manage encryption technologies and ensure data protection and confidentiality across the organization.

Implement and oversee security projects at all organizational levels to continuously improve security measures.

Identifying and mitigating phishing attacks and other social engineering threats.

Implementing and managing email security solutions to filter out malicious content and protect against phishing.

Educating staff on recognizing and reporting phishing attempts and other suspicious activities.

  • Network Administration:

Perform network administration tasks, including configuring and managing VLANs, monitoring network performance, and ensuring network security and reliability.

Work in concert with the Server Administrator to maintain and manage computer access controls such as Group Policies and Active Directory. Collaborate with Network Engineer consultants to adopt best practices and implement projects that enhance network security and infrastructure.

Conduct regular network vulnerability scans to identify and assess potential security weaknesses. Analyze scan results to prioritize and address vulnerabilities, ensuring the network remains secure and resilient against threats.

  • Patch Management and Support:

Proactively manage and execute the patch management process using ManageEngine, including identifying, testing, and deploying critical security patches across the organization’s IT infrastructure.

Provide end-user support through Help Desk tickets, including troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing IT equipment as needed. Communicate progress or delays to users to ensure satisfaction.

  • Education and Collaboration:

Educate staff on effective use of security software and best practices to enhance organizational security awareness.

Collaborate with other IT staff to address technical issues and improve overall IT service delivery.

Backstop other IT staff as needed, ensuring comprehensive support and resolution of technical issues.

REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity and network administration.

  • Hands-on experience with Sophos XG Firewall, Sophos MDR, and Sophos Endpoint is highly desirable.

  • Proficiency in Office 365 administration, including security configurations.

  • Strong skills in network troubleshooting and management, including VLAN configuration and performance monitoring.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and NIST cybersecurity standards.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH) are a plus, but not mandatory.
