JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and motivated individual to join our team as an entry-level Medical Receptionist. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, manage patient interactions, and assist in the smooth operation of the office. This role schedule will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring smooth and efficient scheduling, while also providing administrative support to the clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in the healthcare industry.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner.

  • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and handle inquiries about services.

  • Take minutes during behavioral health meetings, as needed.

  • Check phone messages regularly.

  • Must remain in confidentiality compliance at all times.

  • Must be able to use effective customer service techniques with upset patients.

  • Must be able to remain calm under pressure, be assertive but not combative, and utilize behavioral health experience when working with the adult and pediatric patients.

  • Must be able to work independently at times while adhering to all the policies and procedures.

  • Exhibit the balance of being able to resolve issues while staying within the scope of the job duties/expertise.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and providers.

  • Work closely with staff members and be a team player

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Additional duties include backing up the medical assistant to the psychiatrist on days when she is out and providing additional support when needed.


  • Complete patient vital signs and documents appropriately in to EHR.

  • Act as liaison between psychiatrists and other departments. · Coordinates providers schedule as requested.

  • Assist in taking care of urgent needs of patients.

REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED SKILLS

  • Work Schedule Full-Time: M-F, 8:30AM-5:30PM

  • High School graduate of equivalent.

  • Previous experience working in customer service.

  • Scheduling experience preferred.

  • 1+ years of medical office preferred but not required.

  • Intermediate computer skills.

  • BLS CPR certification. (Can do CPR through our Clinic!)
