Time & Location

Aug 08, 2025, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

IHCRC Middle Event Center, 550 S Peoria Ave, Tulsa, OK 74120, USA

About the Event

This class truly is all about “Culture & Creativity!” Cherokee and Muscogee volunteer artist Tinisha Mitchell, owner of Quality Stitching, will lead older youth (ages 16+) in Ribbon Skirt Making. By participating in this American Indian tradition, youth can wear their creations with pride while honoring their culture. Plus, taking part in traditions is important for:

• Building resilience

• Reinforcing support networks

• Acting as a buffer against trauma effects

All supplies, including sewing machines, will be provided. Participants who are under 18 years old will need a parent/guardian present during this event.

Questions? Call Youth Support Service Coordinator Pauline R. at 918-382-2200!

These sessions are available to active IHCRC patients only.
