About the Camps

Wellness Adventures Camps @ Westside YMCA (Meet at IHCRC)
Wellness Adventures Camps will focus on diabetes prevention, healthy lifestyles, leadership, team-building, and problem-solving. The Westside YMCA Challenge Course provides challenges for new adventures every day. Activities will include: swimming, hiking, archery, team games, double pipeline slide, and much more. A special field trip will highlight the week.

Native Culture and Wellness Enrichment Camps @ Tulsa and Broken Arrow
Native Culture and Wellness Enrichment Camps will provide enrichment for our urban youth, instilling Native culture in a rich experiential manner. Youth will participate in traditional Indian games, fitness activities, and learn skills for Native arts and crafts. A special field trip will highlight the week.

Campers will receive a healthy breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Pickup time is 3:00 pm. Campers can be dropped off at 8:00 am, no earlier. No before or after hours care is available. Grades listed are for the grade the child just completed. Campers must be enrolled no later than May 19 for the camps that take place in June, and no later than June 23 for the camps that occur in July. Participants can enroll in ONE Wellness Adventures and ONE Native Culture & Wellness Enrichment Camp. Parents may call the clinic at 918-588-1900, ext. 5303 to schedule a medical exam with an IHCRC provider, or schedule with your child’s primary care provider. (See requirement list below)

Requirements

These camps are provided at no cost by Indian Health Care Resource Center of Tulsa, Inc. Limited enrollment, first come, first serve basis. Online applications will require 1) a copy of CDIB card 2) liability release form 3) medical release form and consent of photography/video taping form before application will be processed. The child’s medical provider must complete the release form, stating the child has received a well child exam within the past year (since June 2016). The well child exam is required to ensure the child’s well-being and ability to participate in the physically active camps. Parents may call the clinic at 918-588-1900, ext. 5303 to schedule a medical exam with an IHCRC provider, or schedule with your child’s primary care provider.
