Alcohol Drug Treatment

Substance Abuse Treatment

Problems with alcohol and substance abuse can be serious health concerns. IHCRC's Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors utilize a multidisciplinary approach to screening, referral and treatment. The holistic approach includes professional counseling, support groups, traditional Native American treatments and spiritual practices. Healthy living alternatives are supported by promoting self esteem, physical awareness and positive living practices. Medical, mental health or chemical dependency problems are augmented with a personal healthy lifestyle program of regular exercise, cultural awareness and regular medical examinations.

Many substance abuse patients are dually diagnosed with chemical dependency and mental health disorders. The psychiatric component to their illness is supplemented with additional interventions directly aimed at substance abuse, such as Alcoholics Anonymous and other 12-step programs. The clinical services offered include drug and alcohol screening, individual therapy, family therapy and a number of specialized groups.

The Human Services Department has contracts with the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services to provide diagnosis and outpatient treatment. These contracts serve both Native Americans and non-Native Americans who need substance abuse services, but are unable to pay.

Through Tulsa Drug Court, eligible clients participate in intensive outpatient care as an alternative to incarceration.
