Pharmacy Services
The pharmacists at IHCRC work closely with the physicians to adequately serve the treatment needs of the patients. In addition to the dispensing of medications, the pharmacists also help educate patients about how to take their medications properly. In 2004, the IHCRC pharmacy underwent a renovation to improve its efficiency. The centerpiece of this undertaking was the installation of an automated dispensing system, a robot affectionately known as the "Bob." The robot fills prescriptions in the shortest possible time, while reducing the potential for errors. Handling approximately 70% of the prescriptions, the robot automatically counts the medication, fills the bottle and attaches the label. With the robot, the pharmacy staff is able to serve twice as many patients and significantly shorten the waiting time, while providing our patients with the most professional and accurate service possible.
