IHCRC Native Nations Youth Council and IHCRC Camp Fire Community Family Club meetings

Express yourself at a Traditional Ties Food & Fitness Meeting at IHCRC

Come have a light dinner at IHCRC on Thursday evening, May 22 and learn about opportunities to involve your family in community gardening. IHCRC would like to hear your opinions about any ideas and activities you think IHCRC could use to help teach our Indian youth how to eat healthy and stay active. We are also interested in discussing ways to help our young people become more connected to their traditional Indian heritage. We will meet in the IHCRC Board Room from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the main clinic, 550 S. Peoria Avenue. For more information, contact Nancy O’Banion @ 382-1220.

Diabetes Prevention Class

This is a three-part class. Please plan on attending all three class dates so that you benefit from all of the important topics. Classes are being offered:

  • June 2, 9, 16 – Monday 12:30-1:30pm

Quarterly Diabetic Cooking Classes

The first cooking class will meet on Friday, June 20 at 11:00 am. Classes will be held at the IHCRC Satellite office located at 1630 South Main.

Tobacco Cessation Classes

Satellite Office, 1630 S. Main from 5:30 pm-7:00 pm. The IHCRC’s Health and Wellness Department will be offering a six-week smoking cessation class held every other Wed. night starting April 2. We ask participants to attend all six sessions. Interested participants are eligible to receive Chantix if the attend/participate in four of the six sessions. Native Nations Youth Council and Camp Fire Community Family Club meetings

Regular Monthly Meeting – Native Nations Youth Council is open to all Indian youth ages 13-18 years old. The Camp Fire Community Family Club meetings are combined with the Native Nations. Regular meetings of both groups are held on Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:00 pm, prior to Circles of Care Youth Drum Group practice. Meetings are held at the Youth Services Activity Center, 311 S. KIds Group Exercise and Healthy Snacks Class

Come and have some fun and get your heart pumping too! If you want to meet other kids and get some exercise, this is your chance! Classes are held at Central Community Center every Tuesday from 4:30 to 5:30 pm – except for the last Tuesday of the month when Snack Class will be held instead. Learn how to make quick, easy, and healthy snacks! Snack classes are held once a month on the last Tuesday of the month from 4:30 to 5:30 pm at the IHCRC Satellite Office (1630 S. Main).
