Nurse Practitioner - Kim Watson
Indian Health Care added Nurse Practitioner, Kim Watson, to the Medical Department in August. Ms. Watson earned a Master of Science in Nursing, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in May 2011 from the University of Oklahoma. At the time she received her degree, she had completed over 720 clinical hours in pediatric primary care where she was supervised by pediatricians and pediatric nurse practitioners. She was recently certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Tulsa in May 2007, where she graduated on the President's Honor Roll and Cum Laude.
Ms. Watson is licensed through the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support. She is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and the Sigma Theta Tau - Honor Society of Nursing.
Previous to joining IHCRC, Ms. Watson was on staff at the Children's Hospital at Saint Francis in Tulsa where she held the positions of Clinical Nurse III, Charge Nurse and Nurse Technician.
Medical Lab Technician/Lab Supervisor - Donna Shackelford
Donna Shackelford, Medical Lab Technician (MLT), joined the Indian Health Care medical staff in May as a Medical Lab Tech and the Lab Supervisor. She works with Lab Assistant, David Traylor. Ms. Shackelford is licensed as a MLT through the American Society for Clinical Pathology. She earned an Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from Tulsa Community College.
Prior to joining IHCRC medical team, Ms. Shackelford worked at St. Francis Hospital for over 18 years as a MLT where she oversaw the daily tasks and coordination of a moderate complexity laboratory in a six-physician office. Previous to her employment at St. Francis, she worked for the Claremore Regional Hospital in Claremore, Oklahoma as a MLT and at VetPath Laboratory in Sapulpa where she facilitated general lab tests and other tasks.
