2005 Volunteer of the Year - Carole Sue Edwards
(L to R) Rosemary Isom, AARP's Oklahoma Project Director, Carole Sue Edwards, the 2005 Volunteer of the Year and Helen McCarty, AARP's Tulsa Employment Specialist celebrate Carole Sue's award at the 2005 IHCRC Annual Meeting.
The 2005 Volunteer of the Year is the proud mother of three boys and one girl and the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren. She was born in Delaware County where her families' property has been recognized by the Oklahoma Historical Society for being held in the same family for over 100 years. In addition to volunteerism, she enjoys sewing, canoeing, gardening and cooking.
Most importantly, she is very proud of her Indian heritage and through her efforts at Indian Health Care, we can assure you she represents her Cherokee Tribe very well. She worked diligently in IHCRC's Diagnostic Imaging Department via a wonderful government program geared at getting seniors back into the workforce and to provide them with an opportunity to learn new skills, AARP's Senior Community Service Employment Program. When asked for a few adjectives to describe this year's recipient, Katy Johnson said without a moment's hesitation: dedicated, detail oriented, precise, task oriented and one that has a wonderful patient rapport.
Mollie Williford, the Temple Foundation and the Hille Family Foundation were all recognized for exemplary philanthropic support of IHCRC at IHCRC's 2004 Annual Meeting
