Indian Health Care Resource Center 2007 Awards

As is our tradition, Indian Health Care presented a number of special recognition awards to board members, supporters and staff members at the annual meeting. Staff members receiving awards for 5 to 20 years of dedicated service to IHCRC included:

  • Yvonne Cahwee (20 years)
  • Dianne Hughes and Dr. Jennifer Jones (10 years)
  • Donna Birkenfeld, Sandy Bayouth, Angie Lanning, Gail Hamilton, Darryl Hurley and Dr. Deanna Storts (5 years)

In addition to the service awards presented to staff, several Trustees of the IHCRC Board were honored for their dedicated service.

  • Trustee Jimmy Reeder was recognized for 20 years of continuous service on the Board.
  • Awards were also presented to retiring Trustees Robert Summers, DPh, Herschell Daney and T. Hastings Siegfried in recognition of their valued volunteer service.
  • Katy Brown was honored for her dedicated service as the IHCRC Facility Expansion Project Coordinator.

Special recognition and awards were presented to several community leaders and philanthropic supporters of Indian Health Care, including:

  • Delores Tichywy Sumner
  • George Kaiser Family Foundation
  • H.A. and Mary K. Chapman Charitable Trust
  • Charles W. and Pauline K. Flint Foundation

A special and anticipated tradition at the annual meeting is the honoring of individuals who exemplify character that is a model to all Indian people. The importance of maintaining strong Indian families was acknowledged with recognition awards for the Elder, Parent, Youth and Volunteer of the Year. This recognition ceremony honored the following individuals:

  • Herschell Daney for Elder of the Year
  • Debbie and Levi Hill for Parent of the Year
  • Kailey Yount for Youth of the Year
  • Joann Wyrrick for Volunteer of the Year
  • Duane Meadows was named Employee of the Year
  • Jim Cameron was honored as Board Member of the Year
