To tutor and assist students in academic achievement by meeting them on a weekly basis to help with homework, clarify learning  problems and work on study skills during the IHCRC after school program at Allen Bowden Public Schools and Jane Addams Elementary.  Funded by a Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust.

1.

Meet with students in small group basis to give learning assistance.

 

 

 

 

2.

Visit class (es) of students you are tutoring and helping with homework by making contact with the instructor at least once to obtain any necessary course syllabi or materials.

 

 

 

 

3.

Make a determination as to the most effective method of providing assistance to the students and implement that plan.

 

 

 

 

4.

Perform required reports, records, documentation, and data collection.

 

 

 

 

5.

Assist with additional duties as needed, for example, leading and monitoring students to other activities, pick up and clean up after tutoring and activities.

 

 

 

 

6.

Maintain professional standards and accountability in all aspects of job.

 

 

 

 

7.

Provide positive role model for youth and parents in programs.

 

 

 

 

8.

Develop effective approaches to recruit Indian youth into the program & make clinic referrals for all Indian children.

Inform Program Coordinator of potential problems

Complies with all AAAHC standards and requirements such as annual TB test, CPR and CEU and other applicable requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in Health/Physical Education, Psychology, Education, Counseling, or other applicable area is preferred. 

Two years of college plus experience in youth programs can be substituted.

Must have valid Oklahoma Drivers License and insurance.

 

Working Conditions

FACILITIES:   Must be physically fit and active in order to work with children and adults, able to participate in all types of physical activities and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
