Provide health promotion and disease prevention education, fitness activities, youth and family services and advocacy, and collaborate with program partners.  Part time position funded by the Indian Health Service Health Promotion Disease Prevention grant.

Provide personal exercise programs for families and adults.

Assist with youth exercise program.

Provide support services such as information and referral to community resources, advocacy, and youth development.

SECTION “B” TOTAL

 

 

 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in Health/Physical Education, Psychology, Education, Counseling, or related area. 

Two years of college plus experience in youth wellness programs can be substituted.

Personal Training credentials preferred.

CPR Certification.

Ability to demonstrate a special understanding of Indian culture. Familiarity with Native American health care trends.

Intermediate computer skills.  Proficient in MS Office and/or additional applicable software applications.

Strong written and oral communication skills.  Excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to multi-task and work independently, demonstrating initiative and accuracy in work results.

Must have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license, good driving record and proof of valid liability insurance.

 

Working Conditions

Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Must be physically fit and active in order to work with children and adults.  Physical activity required. May include lifting or moving up to 50 pounds of equipment. Environment will vary depending on location.  Travel outside the Clinic required.  Flexible work schedule may be required, such as evenings and weekends.
